I have a fitness assessment in three weeks that I want to be ready for and to do so I have been swimming or running multiple kms every day. Due to my sedentary nature {books not exercise} I’m in rather a lot of pain. Anything you can suggest to reduce the pain would be appreciated. I heard those protein supplements can do that but I wasn’t sure.
Thanks for the help.
hello It is important to recover with supplements after working out/cardio.
Particularly increasing your sugars for your body to replenish lost energy. I recommend that you take a recovery drink, (high simple sugar content) I usually knock back some dextrose powder in water. A protein shake is good too, especially a high energy protein bar.
amio acid tablets are good too.
They stimulate muscle protein synthesis, provides fuel for the muscle and helps to maintain blood glucose. leucine is great. Try some protein shake an hour before work out too!
after pain, if it is really bad could used some topical cream, like volterol or deep heat.

I love mushrooms and my wife is moving us toward a diet with less meat and dairy (per her research on nutrition including having read The China Study), so I thought it would be fun to cultivate mushrooms. Maybe Shiitake and Portablella but before we choose which, I would like help in determining which have the most health benefits (including if you cook them do you remove their benefits) and which you can grow on your own.
try these:

Well I am 40 pounds under weight, I wanna gain weight and make body I started swimming and body building I have trainer but I wanna know from experienced people if i use vitamins is there any problem for me in long term and is body building and swimming good for me how?
If you are 40 pounds underweight and you are lifting weights you should be taking something. Mass gainer would probably be the best thing if you are trying to put on pounds. But you need to be doing high intensity heavy lifting for this to be effective and not just make you fat. If your workouts are just moderate, I would just take whey protein. As far as the swimming goes… you aren’t going to gain as much muscle as you would if you are lifting.

Hi, I’m a Mom & my little boy is going to be playing baseball for the first time. He is lefthanded. Would he need a left handed baseball glove? Or since he would be pitching w/ his left hand, need a right hand one for his right hand or need one of each for different plays? Thank you in advance to anyone that answers.
He needs a standard left handed youth glove, which he wears on his right hand.
One of my kids is a lefty too, we usually buy our gear at
www.baseballsavings.com
They carry both left and right handed gloves and have good prices.
Best of luck!

Can you grow strawberry plants from cutting off leafs and dipping them in root growth hormone?
I tried it with roses and black raspberries, and it worked well. So an hour or so ago I cut off a leaf from one of the strawberry plants and dipped it, then tossed it in some dirt, I know they send off their own runners, but I thought if I could make them like this I would try to make enough for another patch somewhere too.
no you cant. they don’t propagate from cuttings but there are other ways. strawberry plants are like raspberry’s they propagate the same. normally just spreading by them self’s.

I am 25 and fairly active.
I currently take a multivitamin pill as well as fish oil daily. I don’t want to overdo it.
Which vitamin supplements are most important for a young woman to take?
Look for multivitamins that are marketed to younger women as they will be designed to suit your needs. If you are active, you should make sure you get enough calcium and vitamin D so that you don’t get any stress fractures. This is even more important if you’re rapidly increasing your exercise levels from nothing. It’s too much, too fast, and the bone can’t handle it. As long as you are taking a decent multivitamin then you shouldn’t need any more. Fish oil is also a great supplement to take since it provides an excellent source of good fatty acids that help with overall cardiovascular health and brain function such as memory, recall and focus.

How does the lack of nutrition labels on fast foods and restaurant menus affect the African-American community SPECIFICALLY?
What questions do you have about obesity and African Americans?
Hello. Most fast food restaurants have their nutritional information available on the Web. But the time to look it up, the interest in doing it and the access to a computer would all be issues…
The real question is why don’t more families cook…food expense has a lot to do with it but buying fast food is actually more expensive, even if you buy the Williams 8 piece dark or McDonald’s chicken nuggets all the time….
Another issue is simply knowing how to cook and teaching your children to like cooked food.
Interestingly enough, this is becoming a problem all over the developed world, and not just with Black people. Even Japanese mothers have trouble somtimes keeping their kids away from the fast food….
People need to grow some food and herbs, cook, and eat what they cook….
This would help obesity issues, immensely. Oh and being active and making exercise a PRIORITY, the way Mrs. Obama and my family do…

I want to know from people who use body building type supplements which is the best to use for putting on weight and building muscles, there are so many to offer (Maxi-muscle, Creatine etc) and each one offers something different, just wondeirng if anyone can let me know from personal experience?
I am refering to drink powders, not drugs as the bellend below seems to think.
A good diet with plenty of protein. Do not use drugs, just eat and exercise properly.

For the benefit of any baseball fans reading this, a light bulb is a magical ball which can make a room light when it is dark outside.
None! they’re always smashing them with bats when they get the bulb thrown to them!

I have asked a similar question before… I am 15 1/2 years old and I am around 170 cm tall… I am considered short and in a world of tall men, I want to be at least 177 or 180… I figured out the best way to increase my height is to stimulate the Growth Hormone so it can send messages to the body to grow…
So how can I do so????
* It is very important, every relevant answer will be enormously appreciated!!
I think you may still have a growth spurt in ya at that age. My bro did. But really, I think you should just learn to be happy with yourself. God made ya that way for a reason. The more confident you are in yourself and happy, the more others will be attracted to you.
And if people are ignoring ya cause you’re so called short, then they’re not worth being around anyways. Take care.
