How do Baseball Stadiums know when sever weather is approaching the park? And how dose the Stadium Staff know when a tornado warning is issiued? Please let me know thank you.

At most fields they have a radio or tv. When a chance of rain is issued the know the week ahead from watching the news. When my little brother plays and it starts to sprinkle rain they come on the intercom and usually tells what is going on. Hope this helps :)

What are good nutritional supplements for volleyball players?

October 18th, 2009 Posted in Supplements | 3 Comments »

I am playing volleyball and looking for some good nutritional supplements to take to help me better my performance. If anyone has had success with a certain product or something, please tell me so I can know. Thank you.

Volleyball is about a combination of strength, speed, and endurance, so there’s not going to be one substance that will really help you. I think any multi-vitamin with iron (to keep you from getting a little anemic) and the B-complex (to help you stay focused) would be fine. I’ve also heard good things about creatine to help with strength and muscle mass, but remember the bigger you are, the more of you you’ll have to get off the floor.

Also, depending on how old you are, make sure you check into anything you’re putting in your body. If you want to play in the NCAA, there are a ton of substances that are banned. There are even flavors of vitamin water that have NCAA banned substances in them, so be careful what you take.

Where can I complain against false Nutrition Facts on food package?

October 18th, 2009 Posted in Nutrition | 2 Comments »

I have bought some commodities from Indian grocery shop in Bay area. It is really a bad experience seeing all the lies they put on Nutrition Facts label. They just put anything on any item, I usually buy after looking at the Nutrition facts, after coming home and some research I found what that put on package is just plain false.

I really want them to be punished for playing with consumers health by providing wrong information and there by breaking the law.
Just to clarify, I am in Sunnyvale, California USA.

How do I make a complaint about food or a food business?
The NSW Food Authority is responsible for ensuring that NSW consumers get access to safe and correctly labelled food.

If you have a problem with food or a food business you can contact the Authority by:

Telephone on 1300 552 406
Facsimile on (02) 9647 0026
Email on contact@foodauthority.nsw.gov.au
Letter to:
Consumer & Industry Contact Centre
c/- NSW Food Authority
PO Box 6682, SILVERWATER, NSW, 1811.

Alternatively, contact your local council. The Authority and local councils share the workload and have agreed to refer complaints to each other depending on who is best placed to address them. Either way, your complaint gets into the system and will be dealt with by the most appropriate organisation.

It is important that if you are feeling unwell you should separately seek medical advice.

What is the best body building diet for vegetarians?

October 18th, 2009 Posted in Body Building | 2 Comments »

I’ve been a vegetarian since my birth [Just Vegetarian, not a Vegan]. I’m so thin and short for my age, that I need to build my body now. I eat regularly but don’t seem to grow at all. So, tell me the best vegetarian diet to build body.

I’m not sure what exactly you’re eating. You say you eat regularly, but that doesn’t tell me your exact nutrient profile. Even as an omnivore, you have to eat a proper diet to get proper nutrition.

That being said, eat a proper diet to get proper nutrition! I’m a vegan and I actually pursue bodybuilding. I’m not thin, and I have a more restrictive diet than you do. As a vegetarian, you can still have the gold standard of protein, egg, as well as dairy. Both eggs and dairy (in the form of whey) are highly consumed by bodybuilders because they are so fabulous for protein. I suggest adding more of that to your diet. Don’t just cram cheese and sh*t down your throat…actually eat a balanced diet here.

It may not be suitable for a 15 year old, although it might be!!

Check it!
