this vid is so dumb …
this vid is so dumb, get a softball hitter in vs a college baseball pitcher and she would be crying her eyes out. this guy has spent his whole life hitting a baseball and gets thrown in vs an olympic softball player. BULLSHIT!!!

    Just ask yourself …
Just ask yourself one thing: Who’s balls are bigger?
A softball is so much harder to hit then a baseball for me baseball is so much easier. I play softball because i like the challenge. Girls rule!!! Go softball!!!!!! <3

    What they are …
What they are comparing is the reaction time that the batter has not anything else. It is simply saying that professional softball pitchers give the batter less time to react than a baseball pitcher. Anyway, what I am saying is it is a simple math problem. Baseball players are used to reating to a faster pitch that comes from nearly twice as far away. Whereas a softball player is used to a pitch that is only about 30 mph slower but coming from half the distance. Do the math, bucko.

    Wait, softball …
Wait, softball players throw from like 43feet. My 11u team throws from her than that. jennie finch throws like high 60s low 70s. Baseball players throw like 80+ from 60 ft. you cannot compare the 2. Move the average major league pitcher up to 43ft overhand,k after k after k.
Move back a womans softball pitcher to 60 feet and watch. you have seen what teams have been doing to jamie moyer this year he throws in the 70s. no comparisan

    This show is …
This show is definitely more entertainment than science. And many of their experiments are greatly flawed. Occassionally they give good info but you do have to cut through a lot of crap (excuse the language).

    this show is so …
this show is so terrible, hey how bout SWITCHING HIS BAT, jesus, they never make it fair, girls hit with way lighter bats than in mlb, so why dont they make it even, he has less time and yet u expect the poor guy to hit with a heavy frekin wooden bat, this show always does this, i saw one last night on if a woman could punch as hard as a guy, what a joke

    Also, as many have …
Also, as many have already pointed out, Finch hit the wrong part of the machine. She hit it RIGHT ABOVE the top support, which would be the easiest way to break the pane. This is because pressure=force/area, and in this case you had the object applying the pressure (ball), directing the energy on the pane right where it met the EDGE of the support. Of course, if you simply wanted to break the equipment as she said, that would be how to do it. But it’s not a scientific test of the ball’s force.

  14. Hidaka1223 says:

    Well, I can’t …
Well, I can’t really verify my information admittedly (that pertaining to ultra-marathoners). It’s heresay from my father although I did watch something on here recently that semi backs up this claim (he says the differences disappear not that one is better than the other). This source seems credible and reliable. It’s in the SAS: Are you tough enough series, and comes from a former SAS officer (if I got that correct). I’ll put it in the following:

  15. OutlanderWarrior says:

    And when that sex …
And when that sex happen to be female, the overall winner will be a woman. In other words, there occasionally are such races in which you have one, two or three women who have been training in the event for years, and a lot of other people who are relatively new to it. However, again, the elite men are still better than the elite women.

  16. OutlanderWarrior says:

    Actually, I think …
Actually, I think you’ve fallen victim to a myth. The elite male ultra-marathoners are in fact better than their female counterparts. I know because I have researched it. However, I know what fools many people with respect to this. Because there are so few elite ultra-marathoners to begin with (not that many people want to compete in such sports), it sometimes happens that in a given race all the elite competitors will be of one sex.

  17. Hidaka1223 says:

    You make a valid …
You make a valid point here. This should be used to compare the sports, not the sexes. However, while men are better in “burst” type sports (sports focusing on short term power) women are better in endurance sports (not typical endurance I’m talking about 100+ mile races and the like). Male testosterone levels allow them to build greater muscle than women but the necessity as a species mean women are better able to endure in order to survive to bear and raise children.

  18. OutlanderWarrior says:

    And within sports, …
And within sports, there’s no comparison. For instance, the women’s world record for the mile is 4:13 — the BOYS’ American high school record is 3:52. So, if you want to compare the sports, that’s one thing. But using it to compare the sexes is ridiculous. It’s a bit like saying the a 10-year-old 100-yard sprinter is better than a world-class adult miler because he does what he does faster. Male softball players are obviously much better than their female counterparts. Use your heads.

  19. OutlanderWarrior says:

    As is to be …
As is to be expected, silly people have been manipulated by this very flawed research. First, I don’t know which sport is harder, but even if softball is, it doesn’t change the fact that girls are inferior in the athletic arena. For example, if golf is more difficult than basketball, does that mean that female golfers are better than male basketball players? Of course not. If your goal is to compare the sexes, you can only compare them within a given sport, you can’t mix and match sports.

    1. Lets get a real MLB ball player out here, none of this minor league stuff.
    2. Lets now see a girl hit a 95 mph fastball. That has strikeout written all over it.
    3. Each sport has different hitting strategies – you really can’t compare them.
