How come the sound of the baseball getting smacked sounds different?
So when baseball players in majors make contact with baseball, the sound is different when high schoolers, college, or even spring training majors hit the ball. Why is that? Both of their bats are made of medal right?
Same reason a slap sounds different from a punch.
Major leaguers hit the ball squarely and with more power. High schoolers hit the ball off-center and with relatively less power.
Also, major leaguers tend to have expensive bats made out of expensive woods, which affects the acoustics somewhat.

yeh the balls are identicle, so it would be brought back to the way the ball is getting hit and the wood used to hit it.
Of course during a Major League game a pro would use the best bat he could, maybe worth a hell of alot of cash, but when he is training, he might use a cheap one so when it breaks it doesnt hurt the wallet so much.

wood absorbs some of the force so it makes kinda of a clunk sound. metal bats that high schoolers use send the force straight back out and it goes further thats why you hear the high sounding ping
