This is my first time playing baseball in 5 years. I am a sophomore in high school. I have the strength I need to be able to throw a baseball far, but I can barely get the ball to second from the fence. I’m guessing that my technique is wrong. If you could give me some tips on how to hold a baseball when throwing, how my arms should move, maybe even a YouTube video on throwin better, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
build your core strength thru push ups, dips etc
good luck

If a baseball’s velocity is increased to three times its original velocity, by what factor does its kinetic energy increase?
Hello erica, kinetic energy is directly proportional to the square of the velocity. Hence as we increase the velocity by THREE times then KE would increase by 3^2 times ie NINE times,

How many MLB baseball mangers have ever in the history of MLB baseball have been traded from one baseball team to another baseball team? Please include at least one link for your source(s) to your answer.
In addition to the trades of Joe Gordan for Jimmie Dykes, Bill Dehehy for Gil Hodges, Manny Sanguillen for Chuck Tanner, Randy Winn for Lou Pinella and Ozzie Guillen for 2 minor leaguers there’s the following:
December 12, 1933: Mickey Cochrane was traded by the Philadelphia Athletics to the Detroit Tigers for Johnny Pasek and $100,000. Cochrane would become a player/manager for the Tigers in 1934. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/c/cochrmi01.shtml
August 16, 1984: Pete Rose was traded by the Montreal Expos to the Cincinnati Reds for Tom Lawless. Rose immediately became player/manager for the Reds. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/rosepe01.shtml
May 23, 1963: Gil Hodges was traded by the New York Mets to the Washington Senators for Jim Piersall. Hodges immediately retired as a player and became the manager of the Sentaors. Four and half years on November 27, 1967 he would be traded back to the Mets for Denehy. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/hodgegi01.shtml

How is Baseball an influence in your life?
I know this is a very big topic, so here are some other questions that can lead you to your answer.
What Baseball Collectibles do you have? (Ex: Photos, Autographs…)
How did you become a fan of baseball?
Do you talk about baseball in your everyday life?
How is baseball important to you?
How big of a baseball fan are you?
What makes you love baseball?
You don’t have to answer all of the questions. Just some them all up into 1 answer.
Thanks and Good Luck.
-Baseball Collectibles; well over 5,000 baseball cards, ball autographed by 2003 Cubs, Cubs calendars, tons of Cubs shirts, Cubs trinkets, Cubs pennants, etc.
-In 2003 I was selected to be a Chicago Cubs celebrity bat kid (it doen’t entail bats though) and that really got our whole family into baseball. Also, by brother got a pack of baseball cards for his birthday in 2003 before the season started, so that kind of drew us in.
-My friends are pretty much all girls, and none of them know about baseball, so I mainly will just talk baseball with my brother daily. I wish I could discuss baseball with someone other than my brother : (
-Baseball is so important to me. I don’t know what I would do without it.
-I am a HUGE baseball fan. I know almost everything about the game, and what team everybody was on in 2003.
-There’s just something so pure and American about baseball. Just being at a ballpark on a warm summer’s day and watching a good game, there’s nothing in the world that can top it.
-I’ve been to Wrigley Field, Miller Park, Busch Stadium, Great American Ballpark, PNC Park, Citizens Bank Park, RFK Stadium, and Fenway Park. (My family tends to plan our summer vacations around Cubs games)

I have noticed in the baseball section the more facts you quote, be it baseball history from sites like baseball almanac or baseball reference or stats or box score results from Yahoo Sports, the more thumbs downs I will receive for an answer. So what do you hate more current stats or baseball history?
I enjoy almost all aspects of the great game.
I’ll never understand the fascination with walk-up songs, though.

Steinbrenner is having a hard time taking the heat in baseball, but Football and Basketball have been testing for drugs and steroid since the early 1990′s. Random drug testing, anywhere, anytime …Just asked Rickie Williams. The demographics of baseball may have a lot to do why this wasn’t done earlier versus the suspicions that befailed urban players.
The racial divide in baseball had been "untouchable." The press has had a field day on football and baseball players. So welcome to the scrutiny baseball.
Yes I think he is.
The problem I have with baseball is the MLB & teams allowed this to happen. When that many players are using its like you have no choice but to use to save your job.

He is a HUGE fan of baseball. Any ideas on what to get him?
A pack of his favorite baseball teams baseball cards. (or just any pack of baseball cards)
His favorite teams hat. (they should be cheaper since he’s 6.)
Any kind of baseball t-shirt.
Maybe one of his favorite players uniforms. (just shirt, could be expensive though)
Maybe tickets for him and his friend to a pro baseball game. (could be expensive varying upon where you sit in the stadium.)
One of those collectible mini baseball bats with favorite teams logo on it.
Some collectible mini baseball helmets. (I don’t know if they still have them, I got them when I was younger, i’m 14)
Hey, I hope these gift ideas help you. I’m a big baseball fan too. Good luck!!!
